Our incredible team members are a large part of what makes Fulcrum so special. One of those individuals is Hans Krippaehne, CFA, our Equity Strategist and Portfolio Manager. While most of his work is behind the scenes, he works hard for and has a big impact on our clients as the manager of our US equity portfolio. Read on for some insights into what motivates and interests him.

What’s your favorite thing about working at Fulcrum?

The people (both co-workers and clients) and the view.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

Obtaining the CFA charter.

What motivates you?

A general curiosity and desire to understand the world around me. This line of work provides no shortage of interesting topics to dig into.

What do you do when you’re not at the office?
Snowboarding in the winter, cycling in the summer, among other outdoor activities. I also enjoy learning how to cook new dishes – especially on Sunday evenings while listening to KEXP.

What’s been your best moment so far this year?

It’s early in the year, so hopefully the best is yet to come.

Do you have a pet?
No, but I do get my fix from my parents’ dog.

What is one thing you can’t live without?
Coffee

What’s your favorite TV show/movie?
This is a tough one; a more recent one would be Peaky Blinders, but all time, probably Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I played in multiple bands in college.

What’s the one thing you can’t resist?
A sauna
