ringing in the Holidays with Fulcrum
The holiday season holds a special place in the hearts of many, offering a cherished opportunity to gather with friends and family. It’s a time to carry on beloved traditions while also creating new memories. With that cheerful spirit in mind, we’re sharing the fun and festive ways the Fulcrum team brings the holiday season to life and what makes it truly special!
“Sabrina and I are in the early stages of developing traditions. For now, we alternate holidays with her family in California and mine in Arkansas.”
“I really enjoy getting the chance to get together with family and friends over the holiday season. The smells of fresh cedar and delicious holiday treats are so comforting, and I love seeing the looks of surprise and delight when you pick out just the right gift.”
“Our extended family is very big and one of my cousins always hosts Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve family gatherings. I luck out every year in terms that I do not have to cook or clean up.”
“Gathering with family to make lefse and pierogi is always a highlight, along with watching some of the Christmas classics like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
“We enjoy watching holiday movies together, starting with Planes, Trains and Automobiles on Thanksgiving.”
“Holidays for our family were more about tradition and food. We would celebrate on Christmas Eve with many Danish food specialties. My grandmother and mom would always set a beautiful table and have many holiday treats like potato sausage, Risalamande, rhullepolse on Rugbrod, pickled herring, and then ebelskiver, Marzipan Challah and Kringle on Christmas day.”
“When I was little, we lived in a duplex in Watertown, MA. Our landlord was a Greek couple and my mom became good friends with the wife, Sophie. She taught Mom how to make baklava. Mom and I made it together every Christmas to send to friends and family and I’m carrying on the tradition.”
“Each holiday season, I officially kick off the festivities by listening to Handel’s Messiah on Thanksgiving Day. It’s a cherished tradition that sets the tone for the weeks ahead. My current go-to recording is this incredible rendition here—a timeless masterpiece that never fails to inspire.”
“Every December, I honor my Italian heritage by making delicate pizzelle cookies. These crisp, lacy wafers, infused with fragrant anise seeds, remind me of my childhood and connect our family to centuries of tradition.”
“Every year I watch White Christmas and make homemade perogies on Christmas Day.”
“Christmas Eve meal and opening gifts from my family with the kids! Playing the game Salad Bowl with the wife and in-laws and lots of laughs. We spend New Year’s Eve with our neighbors.”
“During the holidays, I’m either spending time with my family here in Seattle or hitting the slopes in Colorado with my fiancé’s family. I’m lucky to enjoy the best of both worlds, with delicious food and great company!
